Lily seems to have visited Lonelyboy after all. However it seems it was a very melancholy visit, she saw her cowardly mistakes of turning him down when he wanted to give her love. She gets up to leave because she feels that she must leave her old self behind with Selden. But Selden seems to be concerned in how frail and tired Lily has become. He builds a fire for her and when he is not aware Lily throws B's letters into the fire.
Looks like Lily chose the moral choice after all, seems like Lonelyboy has been influencing her to be a better person and to make some better decisions.

Some sad news for Lily, she has been fired from her job and is even more trouble than before. Outside of her impish apartment Rosedale meets her. He is shocked with her living conditions and offers to help pay off Lily's debts to Mr. Trenor. But Lily refuses again (strong woman not giving in). Mr. Rosedale asks her to marry him again if she fixes things with B again (haven't you learned already Rosedale??) She doesn't agree to it once again.
She comes to the conclusion to use the letters as blackmail for B but as she makes her way she remembers Lonelyboy. Guess she felt shameful of what she was planning to do and instead heads to Lonelyboy's place.

Poor, poor Lily. She now works as a hat maker and is not very happy doing it. She left Mrs. Hatch to go to Gerty and taking Lonely boy's advice. But she is blamed for setting up Bertie Van Osburgh with Mrs. Hatch because him marrying Mrs. Hatch is total bomb in the elite class. Now the elite look down Lily even more.
Unfortunately Lily is no good at hat making. She goes to the pharmacy and buys sleeping pills, we all know this won't be good. She then runs into Rosedale and tells him everything and why she owes this money to Mr. Trenor hoping it will somehow make a difference. Rosedale is kind enough to help her pay Mr. Trenor back but she doesn't accept. She returns home and is utterly confused on what to do. Should she take up Rosedale's offer? Should she start a hat business for income? Should she expose those letters about B? Lily has some figuring out to do.
